Defense and Aerospace, the new markets for Amix Tech Lab, business development platform

In northern Chile, Amix Tech Lab is emerging as a platform dedicated to accelerating startups and connecting regional entrepreneurs with international networks of innovation and investment. The initiative is led by agronomist Maximiliano Morales, founder of Andes Wines and former manager of the strategic program Nodo Vitivinícola 2.0, who has been actively involved in promoting entrepreneurship and technology-driven development in Chile.
The focus of Amix Tech Lab is to support early-stage startups working in strategic sectors such as AgTech, Biotech, energy, mining, and aerospace technologies. The program also aims to foster initiatives related to defense innovation and veteran-focused entrepreneurship, exploring the potential of dual-use technologies and cross-border collaboration.
Part of this vision is rooted in the international experience of Maximiliano Morales, who previously worked with CORFO, Chile’s national economic development and innovation agency. Morales also lived in Texas between 1991 and 1992, a formative experience that sparked his long-term interest in the innovation ecosystems of the southern United States.
Years later, he returned to Capital Factory, one of the most dynamic startup hubs in Austin, where entrepreneurs, venture capital investors, and technology companies collaborate across sectors including aerospace, energy, defense, AgTech, and Biotech. Exposure to this ecosystem helped shape the vision of building bridges between Chilean startups and global innovation networks.
Through Amix Tech Lab, the goal is to create a gateway for Latin American startups to connect with global markets, investors, and strategic partners, particularly in industries linked to natural resources, sustainability, and advanced technologies.
