Tech Business Hub Launched in Coquimbo Region to Attract Investment and Revitalise Rural and Coastal Sectors

AmixTechLab.com, the global technology business acceleration platform, has just announced the launch of a Tech Business Hub aimed at driving investment and revitalising the rural and coastal areas of the Coquimbo region through targeted economic development strategies for 2025 and beyond.

The hub will focus on real estate (PropTech), scientific tourism exploration and innovation in agriculture and viticulture, all with a view to fostering sustainable economic growth.

One of the main objectives is to conceptualise, plan and implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Shared Value projects for wind energy, mining and agricultural companies in the region. Additionally, the hub will encourage the creation of regional Family Offices to support multi-generational families to better capitalise on their investments, opening up new business avenues beyond tourism, agriculture and retail.

Max Morales, the agricultural engineer spearheading the initiative, explains “We started in the Autumn, as featured in Harpers, with a strategy to attract startups and businesses to the area. We’re enhancing the regional soft-landing approach to activate business networks, enabling these companies to swiftly find clients through coaching and business development services. We’re well-connected with a core group of entrepreneurs always on the lookout for strategies to enhance their operations.”

These services are designed to help startup founders and their teams effectively package their ideas, find the regional market fit and navigate the process of engaging with the local business ecosystem — whether through trade associations or groups seeking to incorporate new technologies into their everyday operations.

Coffee, Wine and Pisco from Coquimbo and Atacama Regions

AmixTechLab’s business network extends to Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, London, Buenos Aires and Paris, supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes Khemngern Tonsakulrungruang, originally from Thailand and holder of a Master’s in Wine and Spirits Management from KEDGE Business School in Bordeaux. In partnership with AndesWines.com, the Tech Business Hub will facilitate market access for wine and pisco brands from Atacama and Coquimbo in Paris and London, with the support of Francesca Bridgewater FCIM, a specialist in wine business, luxury real estate and the wine-related film and audiovisual sectors.

Maximiliano Morales, who has a background writing coffee trends for Perfect Daily Grind — one of the world’s leading coffee websites — while working as a digital nomad in Mexico and Texas, is also a strategist for coffee brands with over seven years direct of experience in his home country, Chile.

Max will now roll out a series of high-end coffee tastings in La Serena and Coquimbo, driven by the region’s growing specialty coffee scene, with the aim of attracting new consumer segments and foster networking opportunities.

Ultimately, the hub will support coastal projects to attract international specialists to enhance research on the region’s coastline, leveraging Morales’ background as a former Wine Specialist for the National Geographic Explorer and Silver Cloud cruise ships, operating in Patagonia and the Chilean fjords.
